"Child Star: The Shirley Temple Story," a movie-for-television dramatizing the early years of the world's most famous child star based on the autobiography of Shirley Temple Black. Emily Hart (Melissa's sister) portrays Shirley as a teen. "Child Star" is executive-produced by Melissa Joan Hart and her mother, Paula Hart, under their Hartbreak Films production banner. The Specials feature film; limited US release September 22, 2000): Melissa is 'Sunlight Grrrl' with other super heros that are "[n]ot as good as regular superheroes, but slightly better than you."

Manhattan, NY (Thursday, September 20, 2000): Melissa and her mother, Paula, auditioned several girls between the ages of 4 and 10 for the role of Shirley Temple in a made-for-TV film.

Teen Choice Awards, 2000 (aired 8:00 - 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2000). Though not even nominated for an award, MJH appeared and introduced boy-band 98 Degrees. Her appearance was very brief. See The Photos

"IN" Power! magazine, August 2000 Issue: 3 MJH/Sabrina references: a small teaser photo on the cover, a quote from MJH on page 5, and a poster in the center (pp. 32-33). A hypothetical Sabrina vs. Harry Potter story is on pages 12-13. This is also bagged (Aol sampler and trading card) - look for Harry Potter on the cover, and MJH in the upper-right hand corner teaser box.

Sky Magazine (UK), July 2000 Issue, pages 94-97: Though not the cover story, a 4-page article features MJH. The article greatly resembles the Bikini story and photos. (Delayed delivery to USA.) This is pretty much the Bikini magazine interview with 2 very familiar photos and one sauntry pose. There are a few quotes seen in other magazines - esp. the would-pose-in-Playboy quote. The magazine is bagged and includes to non-MKH posters (though one is a Buffy poster). Look for Billie on the cover.

FHM, June 2000 Issue: MJH is listed as one of the top 100 sexiest people.

Friday, June 30, 2000: Melissa Joan Hart appears on Late Night With Conan O'Brien to promote her performances on The Vagina Monologues. Her hair is longer than normal and also colored red, reportedly for a role in a recently filmed movie to be released soon.

June 14-20, 2000, Vancouver: Melissa Joan Hart directs an upcoming episode of Disney Channel's original series "So Weird." The episode, titled "Snapshot," will guest-star her younger sister, Emily, whom Melissa will direct for the first time. The episode will shoot from June 14 to June 20 in Vancouver and will premiere on Disney Channel.

Tuesday, May 16, 2000, NBC: Melissa Joan Hart Guest-Stars In Season Finale Of Just Shoot Me "FAST TIMES AT FINCHMONT HIGH" - Jack (George Segal) and Maya (Laura San Giacomo) talk Finch (David Spade) into going undercover as a high school student for a "Blush" article. But when Finch is asked to the prom by a promiscuous cheerleader (guest star Melissa Joan Hart, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch"), he realizes he may be in over his head.

March 1, 2000: MJH appeared on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. She wasn't a scheduled guest, but really wanted to see The Cure perform. Check local listings for a late-night repeat of the episode.

February 14, 2000: MJH appeared on the Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn.

Variety reported on Feb 4, 2000, that MJH will "topline a contempo remake of the 1947 RKO comedy 'The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer.'" Since this is one of my favorite movies, I couldn't be more excited! She'll be taking on the Shirley Temple role (the "bobby-soxer" in the film). The film will be produced by Hartbreak Films. A release date has not been announced.
