Honors for Hanson; slime for Combs

Having already proved its popularity with older viewers, "Titanic" showed it also has kid appeal when it collected the favorite movie trophy at the 11th Annual Kids' Choice Awards Saturday night.

But, perhaps surprisingly, the epic's heartthrob stars missed out on the favorite actor and actress honors, which instead went to Will Smith for "Men in Black" and Alicia Silverstone for "Batman & Robin" during the Nickelodeon-sponsored event at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. Rosie O'Donnell hosted the show in an arena filled with shrieking kids.

Nickelodeon's "Kenan & Kel" captured the favorite TV show award, while "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch's" Melissa Joan Hart and "Home Improvement's" Jonathan Taylor Thomas picked up the trophies for TV actress and actor. Nickelodeon also carried off the favorite cartoon trophy for "Rugrats."

Winners in the musical categories included favorite musical group Hanson, which was also honored for favorite song "MMMBop," and Sean "Puffy" Combs," who was tapped as the favorite singer and favorite dresser, a newly created honor in the "wacky category." Both acts played the show. Combs was triply honored with a celebrity sliming by Nick's trademark green goo late in the show.

This year's sports trophies went to Kristi Yamaguchi and Michael Jordan (favorite athletes) and Chicago Bulls (favorite sports team).

Other winners included animal star Salem from "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch"; video game "Super Mario"; book "Goosebumps: Deep Trouble II" by R.L. Stine; and "Sister, Sister" stars Tia and Tamera Mowry, who were inducted into the Kids' Choice Hall of Fame.

More than 5 million children participated in polling for the awards show, including 4.2 million cast on the Internet.
